Who Are Kodi Capri’s Parents?
Kodi Capri’s father is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, professionally known as NBA YoungBoy or YoungBoy Never Broke Again. He is an American rapper whose music career has brought considerable attention to his personal and family life.
Her mother, Drea Symone, is described by PEOPLE as a model and actress. Drea was responsible for introducing Kodi’s name to the public when she announced her daughter’s birth on Instagram.
Kodi’s connection to NBA YoungBoy explains why her name frequently appears in searches about the rapper’s family. She is one of his children and has several paternal half-siblings.
The rapper’s family has been covered extensively by entertainment publications, although reported totals of his children have changed over time. For Kodi’s biography, the relevant connection is her parentage rather than an exact count of every sibling.
Unlike her father, Kodi is not known for an established professional entertainment career. Public interest in her comes primarily from her family background and occasional mentions in celebrity news.
When Was Kodi Capri Born?
Kodi Capri was born on Thursday, November 26, 2020, which coincided with Thanksgiving Day in the United States.
Her mother announced the birth on Instagram several days later.
In its November 30, 2020, coverage, The Shade Room reported Drea Symone’s announcement and identified the newborn as Kodi Capri.
The announcement was also covered by other entertainment publications, including HOT 97 and HotNewHipHop.
According to HotNewHipHop’s report, Drea introduced her daughter with a message reflecting on the Thanksgiving birth.
She wrote:
> “November 26th 2020, on Thanksgiving Day, I was given a 7.5lb reason to become more thankful.”
The message continued with Drea expressing her happiness and revealing her daughter’s name, Kodi Capri.
The announcement did not explicitly name NBA YoungBoy as the father. Contemporary entertainment outlets connected him to the birth, and later reporting, including PEOPLE‘s family profile, directly identified him as Kodi’s father.
This distinction explains why some early articles used cautious language when describing the relationship, while later profiles identify Kodi as his daughter.
Her First Birthday in 2021
Kodi’s birth date was referenced again when she turned one in November 2021.
According to PEOPLE, Drea Symone shared a first-birthday message on Instagram in which she reflected on naming her daughter Kodi Capri.
In that message, Drea referred to November 26, 2020, as Kodi’s birth date.
The birthday post provided another public family statement supporting the date reported when Kodi was born.
As of October 2026, Kodi remains known primarily through these family announcements and published coverage of her parents. Her documented public story is therefore a straightforward one: her name became known following Drea Symone’s Thanksgiving 2020 birth announcement, and she has since been identified in entertainment reporting as the daughter of NBA YoungBoy and Drea Symone.
