Shloka Mehta, now known as Shloka Ambani, co-founded ConnectFor. The Mumbai platform has matched volunteers with NGOs since 5 December 2015, and it was developed by the Rosy Blue Foundation, the charitable arm of her family’s diamond business. She is the youngest daughter of diamantaire Russell Mehta. She married Akash Ambani, the elder son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, in March 2019, and the couple have two children, Prithvi and Veda.
Most people come to her name through the Ambani marriage. Her own public work is ConnectFor and the foundation behind it.

ConnectFor: the work Shloka Mehta is known for
ConnectFor started inside a family foundation. The Rosy Blue Foundation was set up in 2010 to strengthen the community-service commitment of the Rosy Blue Group, and ConnectFor is the programme it developed. ConnectFor’s About Us page lists two founders, Shloka Ambani and Maniti Shah. The page calls ConnectFor a “social impact catalyst.” It says its mission is to bridge gaps between NGOs, companies, institutions and individuals through volunteering, partnerships and CSR (corporate social responsibility) work.
The basic service is matching. Volunteers sign up and say which causes they care about, which skills they have and how many hours they can give. NGOs post the help they need. The causes listed on the site include education, health, animal welfare, the environment, seniors and disability. ConnectFor also runs corporate volunteering and CSR programmes for companies.
ConnectFor publishes its own impact counters. As of November 2026, its homepage listed 138,037 volunteers, 1,000 NGOs and 618,810 volunteer hours. It also showed ₹32.94 crore under “amount saved,” a figure the page doesn’t explain. These are the organisation’s own numbers, not independently audited figures. The site dates its work from 5 December 2015 and marked ten years of operation in December 2025. Some online profiles say it launched in 2014, but ConnectFor itself uses the 2015 date.

What she has said about ConnectFor
Shloka Ambani rarely gives long interviews. Her most widely covered one was in July 2025, on The Masoom Minawala Show, where she appeared with co-founder Maniti Shah. According to Cosmopolitan India’s account of the episode, she said that “ConnectFor started with a very simple idea.” She went on: “There are lots of people who want to do good things but find it challenging to locate the means to do so.”
Matching is her answer to that problem. Cosmopolitan reported that she called the platform the “Shaadi.com of volunteering,” comparing it to India’s best-known matrimonial matchmaking site. The comparison fits how the service works: it pairs people who want to help with organisations that need them.
She also talked about combining the work with raising young children. Cosmopolitan quoted her as saying she takes “real pride” in telling her children “Mumma has to go to the office,” and that “I don’t think anyone should be shamed if they want to enjoy being a mom.”
Family background and education
Shloka Mehta is the youngest of three children of Russell and Mona Mehta. Her father heads Rosy Blue Diamonds, the business behind the foundation that later developed ConnectFor. Her elder sister, Diya Mehta Jatia, is a fashion consultant and stylist, according to Brut India. Business Today reported in 2018 that Diya had married Ayush Jatia.
She went to school at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai. In a March 2018 report on the expected Ambani–Mehta wedding, The Quint said she had studied anthropology at Princeton University and held a master’s in law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. The same report said she had been a director of the Rosy Blue Foundation since July 2014. The universities themselves haven’t published these details. A LinkedIn profile under her name, linked to ConnectFor, lists study at the LSE in 2013–2014.
Business Today reported in 2018 that she was born in July 1990. Some profiles give 1991 instead.
Marriage to Akash Ambani
Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani knew each other from school. The Quint reported that they studied together at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and that the Ambani and Mehta families knew each other well. When reports of the match appeared in early March 2018, both families refused to comment. A source close to the Ambanis told The Quint that no dates for an engagement or a wedding had been finalised. The News Minute reported the engagement later that month.
The couple married in March 2019. People gives Akash Ambani’s birth date as 23 October 1991. If the 1990 date for Shloka is correct, she is about a year older than him. Akash has been chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, the group’s telecom company, since June 2022.
Their children, Prithvi and Veda
Shloka and Akash Ambani have two children.
Their son, Prithvi Akash Ambani, was born in Mumbai on 10 December 2020. “Shloka and Akash Ambani became proud parents of a baby boy today in Mumbai,” a statement from the Ambani family spokesperson said, as reported by ETV Bharat the same day. Some later articles give his birth year as 2021, but reports published that day confirm December 2020.
Their daughter was born on 31 May 2023. Business Today reported that Shloka’s second pregnancy had become public at the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai shortly before. On 9 June 2023, the family announced her name in a statement written as if from her older brother: “Prithvi is thrilled to announce the birth of his little baby sister, Veda Akash Ambani.”
Questions readers also ask
Is Shloka Mehta richer or more educated than Radhika Merchant?
Neither comparison can be made reliably. No credible public figure exists for Shloka Mehta’s personal net worth; the estimates circulating online cite no source or method. On education, the record for Shloka is what The Quint reported in 2018: anthropology at Princeton and a master’s in law from the LSE. That isn’t a basis for ranking her against anyone else.
What is the latest Ambani family news?
The biggest recent development is a business one. Jio Platforms listed on India’s stock exchanges on 28 October 2026 after an IPO that CNBC reported raised ₹302 billion, the country’s largest ever. CNBC described Akash Ambani as managing director of Jio Platforms. The listing concerns her husband’s company, not her own work.
Where she stands now
As of November 2026, ConnectFor lists Shloka Ambani as a founder and has published its annual report for the 2025–26 financial year. An Instagram account in her name describes her as founder of ConnectFor and director of the Rosy Blue Foundation. Her own description of the work dates from the July 2025 interview, and her public role remains the volunteering platform she co-founded in 2015.
